Understand and plan

One of the most important steps of writing is understanding the question. More often than not people write on the theme instead of the question asked. You must first understand the theme and then understand what the question is asking, based on that theme. Once you are done with that, brainstorm the content you can gather and organize and plan your ideas to be delivered in the essay. In the process of planning, decide which paragraph will contain which set of ideas and so on. This structuring will act as a blueprint for your writing which will help you have a well-structured essay. Practice different question types The IELTS Essay Writing task has around 7 question types. It is important that you practice every question type because the structuring of your content and even your idea creation will depend on it. Hence, practice all of it to understand your weak spot. Have a proper opinion It is always a good idea to have a proper opinion instead of having mixed opinions. A stronger content will always get you a good band. When your opinions are clear, the content is strong. This is highly significant when writing argumentative essays. Time management Essay writing’s major achievement comes from good time management. We have put down the strategies for you to help you score higher in the reading section of IELTS. We are very sure that these will help you a lot. Focus on improving your English and reading instead of focusing on IELTS readings. IELTS Reading is not like Math where you can practice one particular question and hope that the same might get asked in the exam. Hence, focusing on a particular reading is not the right approach. Instead, identify your English errors of grammar and improve there to help you do better in understanding the passages. Reading has skills like skimming and scanning involved along with close reading. Develop these skills. Look out for comparison words and synonyms in your text. Words like almost, some, few, or all can trick your mind. Make sure you do not fall into that trap and understand the exact meaning of the question. When you identify the keywords, remember that the same words need not necessarily be in the text so always gather some synonyms in your mind and look out for synonyms while scanning. There is no transfer time so write answers directly on the answer sheet. Unlike the Listening test, there is no transfer time here hence make sure you do not write answers on the question paper and write them straight to the answer sheet. However, you are allowed to mark and make notes on the question paper.

Today we’re going to tell you some of the most interesting facts and clarify some myths regarding IELTS. Native Speakers and Non-Native Speakers Have the Same Chance of Achieving IELTS Band 9 There’s a common belief within students and teachers, saying that to achieve Band 9 (the highest score in IELTS) you must be a native English speaker. This is nothing more than a myth. Actually, in some cases native speakers score less than non-native speakers. It all depends on your effort and how much dedication you put to the task of achieving a high score. There’s No Way to Cheat on the IELTS test There’s no way someone can cheat on the IELTS test. How is this possible? Well, easy. The questions you’ll see on your test day aren’t published anywhere else. Bringing copies of past tests is obviously not allowed, but it wouldn’t be of much help. Lastly, if you were to cheat on the IELTS test, you’d be able to cheat on the written part of the test only.
